Early on the stage, five optimistic riders attacked on the first climbs of Kwadwesi GP. They managed to keep a gap between them and the peloton until they reached the final climb. At the bottom of the climb, the group of favourites passed them. Rider by rider, they couldn't keep up with the tempo set by Berritxaco, who were supporting Tyson Watts. Right behind the riders of Berritxaco was Guillermo Bea and Oskar Gawron lurking. Tyson Watts looked strong, and seemed to have a good day, but when Oskar Gawron launched an attack, only Guillermo Bea could follow. Guillermo Bea made a counter-attack and was suddenly alone in the front, as Tyson Watts caught up Oskar Gawron once again. Guillermo Bea secured his victory without problems, while Tyson Watts was faster in the sprint than Oskar Gawron. Foncho Zamarrilla finished fourth.
